club's origin dates back well over 31 years ago. There were
numerous Mopar guys here in Mid-Missouri, both in Jefferson
City and Columbia who began attending events together back in
the 70's. We loved going to drag races, car shows and swap meets.
Towards the mid-1980's we became frustrated in the lack of Mopar
knowledge and subsequent poor judging at 'all-brand' car shows.
Our founder, Tom Mitchell Sr, came up with the idea of putting
on a Mopar-only show, utilizing his Mopar friends here in Mid-Missouri
as judges. We were the first car show in the state, and one
of the first in the Mid-West to feature drive-thru judging.
The first show was a success, and we felt like we were on to
something. We agreed to continue forward with a second show,
and as they say...the rest is history! We're thankful for the
growth of our event and all the friendships we've created through
the years. What a wonderful experience this has been.
Mitchell Sr was a visionary and we are forever grateful for
his ideas and leadership. Tom was a respected Father, Christian
and Mopar man. We honored Tom with one last show...the
30th annual Moparfest. It was his passion, and we've carried
it on in memory of him. We've dropped the parachute on this
incredible run of 30 consecutive Mopar car shows...called Moparfest!
